Pappy's Baby Back Ribs

This is the stuff that BBQ dreams are made of!

Serves: 4-6 people
Cook time: 3 hours

Ingredients

  • 3 racks baby back ribs

  • 1 15 oz bottle Pappy's Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce

  • Pappy's Prime Rib Rub to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat grill

  • Lightly oil the grill

  • Peel silverskin off the rib side of the ribs. At the back or the bone side of the rack of ribs is a white membrane called “silverskin.” To remove it: 1. look for an opening at the edge or use a blunt knife like a table knife and slide it under the silverskin then lift it to separate the silverskin from the meat.  2. Grab the edge with your hand or use a paper towel if it is too slippery. 3.  Pull the silverskin off in one piece. If it breaks, just repeat the process.

  • Thoroughly wash the ribs

  • Season the ribs generously with Pappy's Prime Rib Rub or any Pappy's seasoning products.

  • Place ribs on direct heat bone side up

  • Get your grill marks on both sides of the ribs(3-4 minutes depending on the heat of your grill or until grill marks appear on both sides of the ribs.

  • Pull of the grill

  • Preheat oven to 275 degrees

  • Bring ribs indoors and wrap each rack of ribs separately in two sheets of foil.

  • Place ribs in baking pan. Place baking pan in oven for 2 ½ hours. Remove pan from oven.

  •       12.Remove one sheet of foil

  •       13.Drain fat then brush bone side first with Pappy's Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce

  •       14.Put oven on broil.

  •        15. Place ribs back into the oven for 45 seconds to a minute or until sauce has carmelized. Watch carefully as you don't want them to burn.   Take ribs out of oven and then repeat process on meat side of ribs. The point is to coat and then carmelize both sides to make the sauce stick to the ribs better.

  •       16. Remove ribs from oven let them stand for a few minutes and then enjoy the best baby back ribs you have ever had.
